A business or person can sign up as a Flipkart seller by specifying the information about his/her business and products which he/she proposes to sell via Flipkart. Flipkart Seller include:
- Name of the seller
- Phone number of the seller
- Email address of the seller
- Business address/ Pickup address
- Classification of product which the seller is looking to sell through Flipkart
- Tax registration documents; particularly GST registration
- Business registration documents such as Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum of Association, etc.
Additionally, there are some other important documents which need to be submitted depending on the type of the business being registered:
1. Sole Proprietorship
If any individual wishes to sell through Flipkart on their own legal standing and name, such business would automatically be seen as a Sole Proprietorship. However, a sole proprietorship form of business doesn’t provide limited liability protection to its promoter, does not have partners or investors, is not transferable easily, not scalable enough and has restricted access to bank loans. 2. Private Limited Company
Becoming a seller at Flipkart as a Private Ltd. company is the most desirable choice as it offers limited liability protection for its promoters, easy transferability, separate legal entity, opportunity to involve partners or take on investors and scale-up operations quickly. The below-mentioned documents should be provided for a Private Ltd. company:

- A copy of registration documents or Incorporation certificate of the Private Ltd. company

3. Partnership Firm or LLP

- LLP Incorporation Certificate or Partnership Registration
- Power of Attorney duly authorized to a designated Partner or the employee in case of a Limited Liability Partnership or Partnership firm for transacting business operations on its behalf

- PAN Card of Partnership Firm or LLP

4. Tax-related registration
Once the seller has decided to become a seller at Flipkart and has registered as a business entity for his/her projected business, the below-mentioned tax registration and bank details would be required:
- Name of the business/entity
- PAN (Permanent Account Number) – PAN Card of the private limited company or individual or partnership
- GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) – GSTIN of the seller in case goods to be sold on Flipkart comes under the purview of GST
- TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) – TAN is needed for TDS (Tax Deduction at Source)
